My guest today is Stephanie Thomas, Executive Director of the Teton County Search and Rescue Foundation (TCSAR Foundation), an organization she’s been a part of for the past 15 years. Her favorite parts of the job are supporting her SAR volunteers, brainstorming “what’s next” and working with community partners. When not on Search and Rescue duty, Steph’s exploring the mountains by foot, wheel or paddle with her three kiddos, partner Clay, and their silly dog, Hank.
We talked about the community prevention and education programs they run to keep locals and visitors out of trouble or to help them respond more effectively when trouble finds them, the care for the caregiver mental health programs they’ve created for their Search and Rescue volunteers, and her family’s upcoming 4-month adventure to Central America, South America, and Europe.
